2D Blog Post #3 - Life of Pi bitstrips

My apologies to any of you who have been waiting for me to create this post. Hopefully you, like me, were having a nice weekend and were more or less able to put away work for a little while to enjoy yourselves.

For tomorrow, the work begins anew.

For the next two days, we'll be writing an in-class exam on the novel. I'll give you the topics and a day to plan, then another day to write. Please keep in mind some of the things I wrote on your last essays to give you an idea of areas you can improve in.

Wednesday, we begin the Scottish Play. Good times!

For now, please use the comments in this post to give me the links to your blogs for your Life of Pi bitstrips assignment. If you've already posted in the previous post, that's fine, I'll figure it out. Between the strips and your essays, we're looking at about next Monday to get it all back to you. Sooner is possible, but we'll see how it goes.

Only a few weeks left to go!

2D - ISU Blog Post #2

Please use the comments section of this post to let me know when you've finished tweaking your blog to reflect the second part of the ISU. I won't mark anything on it until you've indicated you're good to go.

I'm still sick and now my wife and son have it as well. I haven't slept at all this weekend as a little baby who isn't feeling well just won't let that happen. That said, I'm two blogs away from finishing marking the first part of the ISU. I have to say, I'm pretty impressed with the complexity of thoughts and insights that you guys have been putting forward. You are easily one of the more developed classes I've ever taught. Keep it up!

Hopefully you're all having a great weekend! Remember to check the sidebar often to see when assignments or tests are coming up. You have the sight essay test on Thursday, for instance, and the ISU is due on Friday.

See you Tuesday!

More work...

We're getting close to the halfway point of the semester.

A reminder: my marks are due by April 19, so if there is material you want to hand in I need it by the 15th so I have time to mark it and update the computer.

Otherwise, keep working hard! Summer is fast approaching!

2D ISU assignments...

Welcome to the world's best website! Yes, it's true, it was voted as most popular and even beat out heavyweights Google and Facebook.

Okay, maybe not. But it IS a good place to come to if you need extra help, have a question, or simply want to use the comments to post your name and the website address for your ISU.

Please make sure to include your name so I don't have to guess who it belongs to. The sooner you can post this, the better. I promise not to start marking anything until after 12pm on Sunday, March 25, though you can put up your link before that.

Thanks!

Final Push: The last two weeks

Hey guys, hope you all had a great holiday... but sadly it's over now and the final push begins. This means that in both of my classes we'll be in the library until the end getting projects done.

Media:
Make a newspaper! Yes, we need to get this done in the next two weeks. Your final articles (worth 15%) are due on WEDNESDAY, not TUESDAY... I'm giving you one extra day to get it done. It's my post-holiday gift to you. After that, it's an automatic zero if you don't hand it in. It's an exam!

4C:
We'll be working on our final research projects. You'll have the library shelves and databases at your disposal. Research your topic, write your report, create your brochure, then use presentation software to deliver the final results to the class. This is your LAST required work as an English student in high school so make sure you do a good job!

I'll see you all on Monday!
