UPDATED: ISU (MONDAY)

Image Hosted by ImageShack.usIMPORTANT:
Please realize that due to the nature of how blogs work, your deadline means by 11:59 pm tonight. This does not have to be finished by class. I will be looking to make sure that it doesn't show any updates past today in your final product.

For those of you looking to post/ask information, please do so in the comments section for this post. As I read your questions, I'll post the responses here. Hopefully everyone makes use of this site over the weekend as I'm sure it'll be at least a bit helpful.

MLA Bibliography -
R.H. King Academy Library

This is the school website. If you go to the 'Research Toolkit' section on the left, click it, then look on the right when you get there you'll see 'EasyBib' and 'Citation Machine'. Either one of those will help you in creating your MLA citation.

Paragraph question -
Absolutely you can have more than one paragraph and I don't remember putting any sort of limit on that. In fact, you should treat this like you would any other piece of writing so paragraph away.

The Race (Quoting Poetry)-
The proper method for referencing/citing a poem is to use a backslash to denote a line change. In a short story your quote would be straightforward, but for something like 'The Race' it would be along these lines: "How do I compare thee to a summer's day?/Thou art more lovely/And more fair." See the slash? That's how you show a line change for a poem.

Online articles -
They count as much as a print article so long as you still provide a working link.

Original Image:
This is to be used in your introductory post in the same way you would do a title page.

MLA: See the above post for how to correctly site your references.

Lather: Use the whole story (and yes, online is fine). The book it comes from at school is called SIGHTLINES 10. This is the correct MLA format for that story:

Tellez, Hernando. "Lather & Nothing Else," Sightlines 10. Ed. Beverly Biggar et al. Prentice Publishing, 2000. 342-346.

Citing an Internet Image:
You still have to follow MLA format to cite an image. If the creator is unknown, you should at least list the site where it was taken from. Give it a title if it doesn't have one. (ie. 'Untitled' or 'Man running').

The bibliography can be included with the conclusion at the end. The links in the sidebar don't have to be in bibliography format, but rather just another avenue for a visitor to explore your sources. The sidebar links can be just that: straightforward links.

Lottery Ticket:
Yes, you can use this or any other source we studied in class as part of your ISU.

Mr. Wilkinson, what was the name of the book where 'Lather and Nothing Else' is in? And also, what was the publishing information you need for MLA referencing. Or if you could tell me a website to go on to find the MLA information. Please and thank you! :)

Omg...thanks mr wilkinson, that backlash thing helped me out a lot considering I was wondering how to show line change:)

Mr. Wilkinson, you know how you told us that we have to create an image of our own. Do we put that image for the introduction paragraph or we are using that image for comparative text? Please reply soon. Thanks in advance.

Mr.Wilkinson, for the story "Lather and Nothing Else", we only have like a part of the story and not the ending, so is it okay if I found the whole story online nd use that? Or are we only suppose to use what we have? or are we supposed to use our ending of the story?

Please see the blog post for updates and the answers to your questions. Thanks!

Also, i have another question about citations, for example if we search something on google and we find an image, we really can't cite it using the MLA format, so can we just put the link? also, does the bibliography need to be in the intro post, the sidebar, or in a conclusion post at the end?

Mr. Wlikinson, can I use the Lottery Ticket as the story?

Mr. Wilkinson, I am creating an image that I want to attach to my banner of my blog, can that image be used again for the image that is supposed to be shown in the introduction (title page or something)?

Mr. Wilkinson, where should I include the copy of the story I'm using? Like in the introduction or can I just make a seperate post for it?

Mr. Wilkinson, do you have to use only one image to compare our story or peom with?? OR can we use more than image?

Mr. Wilkinson, I have two questions, for The Race, do I have to put the text for it on the blog, if so do I put it as a separate post after the introduction or include it with the introduction? My second question is how do I cite the poem? because on that easybib program there is no option that is close enough to a poem.

For your story, if you have a link to it then you can just post that. You can do a separate post that has your story and then link to that individual post as well. Or, if it's easier, you can just hand in paper version.

There IS a way to add music, but I'm afraid you'd have to look it up. You can also embed youtube music videos of your song.

As for images, you can compare more than one but you're doing more work than you have to.

The race is fairly straightforward.
Birkett, Greg. The Race (**underline the title**) Independent Publisher. 2004.

As for including it on the blog, because you won't be able to find it anywhere else, I don't mind if you hand in a paper copy. You can also scan it in and then post that image to your blog.

Hi Mr. Wilkinson,

I am one of the founders of EasyBib. Thanks for encouraging use of our services. We have created a special section for educators that contains reference guides. Please take a look: http://www.easybib.com/librarians

All the best,
